This cuff takes its design cue from Thailand's sunrises and sunsets, translating that arc of changing light into two facing, fan-shaped brass forms stamped with radiating lines and dots. The repetition of the stamped marks echoes the way a sunburst is often rendered in metalwork: not as a literal picture, but as a pattern of rays and points that the eye reads as light in motion.
The piece pairs brass, a warm, sun-toned metal, with an oxidized sterling silver band, so the darkened silver sets off the brighter brass sun forms the way dusk sets off a bright sky. That contrast of warm and cool metal is a deliberate design choice, not an incidental one.

Each cuff starts as flat sheets of brass and sterling silver, cut into the fan and band shapes before the surface work begins. A metal stamp and hammer are used by hand to strike the radiating lines and dots into the brass, one mark at a time, while the silver band gets its own scattered dot texture along its length. The silver is then oxidized in a chemical bath and buffed back so the darkened finish sits in the recesses and the raised texture catches the light, before the brass sun forms are riveted onto the band and the cuff is shaped to its final curve.
