The Story
Tie-dye is one of India's oldest textile practices, worked by hand rather than printed by machine. A length of cotton is folded, twisted, or bound before dye is applied, and the cloth's own resistance to the dye is what draws out the pattern - here, a soft, swirling marbled effect in green and white rather than a fixed, repeating print.
Because the pattern forms through the physical handling of the cloth and not a stencil or screen, no two lengths of fabric take the dye in quite the same way. That variation isn't a flaw to correct but the visible signature of a hand process - a small record of how the fabric was folded and dyed on a particular day, by a particular pair of hands.

To get this marbled effect, a length of cotton is folded or bunched and worked by hand before the dye is applied, so the dye settles unevenly across the folds and creases rather than laying flat and uniform. The fabric is then opened, dried, and cut and sewn into the tunic's shape - split neckline, vented hem, piped edges - by hand at each stage. Because the dyeing happens before the cutting, the placement of the swirls on your particular tunic is unrepeatable.
