The Story
Ikat is a resist-dye weaving technique found across Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and India, in which yarns are bound and dyed in sections before weaving so the pattern forms with a characteristic soft, feathered edge rather than a crisp printed line. In India, regional ikat traditions include Gujarat's double ikat patola, Telangana's Pochampally ikat, and Odisha's bandha weaving, each known for bold geometric and diamond-based motifs.
The lozenge and stepped-diamond forms on this tunic echo that visual language, a repeating pattern common to ikat weaving centers worldwide and prized for the way color blurs at each motif's edge.
This tunic translates that aesthetic onto cotton fabric through printing rather than hand resist-dyeing and weaving, giving the look of ikat in an easy-care, everyday piece. It's made in India, home to some of the world's most established ikat weaving traditions.
This tunic is cut and sewn in small garment workshops in India, where cotton yardage printed in the ikat-inspired colorway is laid, measured, and hand-guided through cutting before being stitched into the tunic's shape. Finishing details — the split neckline, the vented hem, and the side slits — are set and pressed by hand at each workshop station, and pieces are checked individually before packing, which is why small variations in print placement and seam are normal rather than a flaw.

Questions & Answers
Is this fabric hand-woven ikat, or is it printed?
The pattern is printed onto 100% cotton in an ikat-inspired colorway and motif, rather than hand-tied, dyed, and woven the way traditional ikat cloth is made.
What size should I order?
Check the flat garment chest and hip measurements for your size (S-XXL) and add 4-6 inches for your desired fit, since the measurements given are for the tunic laid flat.
How do I wash this tunic?
Wash it in cold water, tumble dry, and iron on medium heat if needed; avoid bleach.
Where is this tunic made?
It's made in India from 100% cotton.
Will the print and sizing be exactly the same as the photo?
Because each tunic is handmade and cut from printed yardage, expect slight natural variation in print placement and sizing between pieces.
